ThinktankWatch

About

The world of think tanks is one of the most interesting political phenomenon of the last one hundred years. Emerged from the civil society with the aim of participating in a public arena dominated by politicians and traditional powers, they are playing a strong role in the molding of global public policies. However, think tanks are not necessarily members of a sort of Political Salvation Army. They have particular interests and try to promote private agendas at the same time they are contributing to a more democratic debate over the public affairs.

With this modest editorial project I would like to contribute to show some of the most valid works of several think tanks all over the world. The list is too long and my resources are limited. For this reason, I will only focus in analyzing and comment books, reports and pieces of research. I am less interested in the journalistic stuff think tanks publish everyday. In fact, there many other sources of information to know the last news about the think tank activity. These institutes implement ambitious communication plans to disseminate their ideas and points of view, like other media organisations.  I prefer to follow their deeper reflection on the public policy issues. The topics I am going to focus on are:

- Political philosophy

- Political Economy

- International Relations

- Think tank management

- Big social issues

This is not a limited range of issues. ThinktankWatch is a personal media and can change anything everytime. My only commitment is to be able to publish posts in a regular basis. It is not an easy task.

Best wishes,
